Due to proposed budget cuts to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency by the Trump administration, water quality in the Delaware River Basin. Under the proposed plan, 34 percent of water-related programs run by the EPA would be cut. In particular, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York would some $14 million in grants to control pollution, as well as $3.3 million in funding for the protection of drinking water.
